Nick Tyre

Nick Tyre is a Ph.D. student in Crop and Soil Environmental Science at Virginia Tech, where his research focuses on silvopasture establishment, including tree protection, vegetation control, and species selection. He has hands-on experience in livestock production and agroforestry systems through roles at the Catawba Sustainability Center and farms across the eastern U.S. His background also includes grant writing, agricultural policy, and food systems advocacy, bridging applied research, farm production, and conversation outcomes.
