Durga Dhakal
Ph.D. Student
Durga is a doctoral student specializing in pasture-based livestock systems, with a focus on silvopasture and forage diversity to improve animal performance and reduce environmental impacts. He is particularly interested in developing practical approaches to address production challenges and environmental impacts in grazing systems.
His research includes measuring enteric methane emissions from cattle across grazing systems (silvopasture vs. open pasture), evaluating the yield and nutritive value of honey locust pods, and assessing management strategies related to fescue toxicosis.
