Alex Thorpe

Alex Thorpe is an M.S. Student in Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation (FREC) at Virginia Tech. She worked for three years as an Environmental Technician, conducting stream and wetland delineations, tree surveys, invasive species control, compliance inspections, and much more. Her wildlife background stems from work experience with the Virginia Tech Conservation Management Institute, surveying bats across the East Coast, and from volunteering with the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center and DWR. Her main research interests are the intersection between agroforestry and wildlife conservation, riparian buffer implementation, and landowner education.
