Sara Jackson
Contact:
Sara Jackson is an Agroforestry Project Coordinator for Professor John Munsell at the Department of FREC at Virginia Tech. In 2020 she came aboard as a forest-centric web designer tasked to create the current Appalachian Forest Farmer Coalition website and resources and help create a 'digital ecosystem' for education and outreach. Recently, she has branched out to other projects including the Agroforestry Regional Knowledge Exchange Network (ARKx) in 2025. She leverages a unique background in web design and resource development to advance awareness, outreach and accessibility within the forest farming and agroforestry community, stemming from her own deep passion for forests, stewardship and botanicals such as American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius) and other at-risk forest botanicals.
Sara is also a mother, forest steward, naturalist, photographer, game creator as well as a voracious autodidact. She homeschools, forest farms and works remotely from Bat Cave, NC. Interests include developing multilingual resources, TEK and Indigenous Agroforestry, and helping build a vibrant and inclusive future for the Agroforestry Community by developing digital and data driven tools and resources that benefit producers, researchers and the ground beneath our feet.
