Blue Ridge Woodland Growers
The Blue Ridge Woodland Growers (BRWG) is a group of people interested in developing economic opportunities around products that can be sustainably grown or harvested from the woods and fields of Grayson, Carroll, and surrounding counties. The BRWG work together to figure out how to get non-timber forest products (NTFPs) with the most potential from our fields and forests to market. BRWG has hosted 6 workshops (hazelnut, ginseng and goldenseal), 5 planning meetings, and 3 pilot projects (autumn olive, lily of the valley, elderberry), and keeps an active email list letting folks know about educational opportunities around NTFPs. We will be developing a shared action plan to further guide our activities. For more information on BRWG, visit our website.
